2017 IIM Keynote Speakers
Dr. Brad Gustafson is a 2016 National Distinguished Principal, author, and speaker. He shares a belief that schools should be spaces where relationships, creativity, and innovation thrive. His passion for leadership and learning is palpable. Brad is a 2015 Digital Innovation in Learning Award (DILA) winner. His school was also recognized with a Local Government Innovation Award by the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. Brad co-hosts the “UnearthED” program on the Bam Radio Network. His blog, Adjusting Course, was named a “Must Read” K-12 blog by EdTech magazine. In addition to blogging, Brad recently released a new book, Renegade Leadership: Creating Innovative Schools for Digital Age Learners, and he is a co-author of Personalized PD. He earned his doctorate from Bethel University where his research focused on professional development and innovation. Brad is a school leader who understands the importance of collaboration, school culture, and learner empowerment.
John Sessler serves as Manager of Program Engagement for PBS LearningMedia, an award-winning and trusted destination for educators that aggregates the best of public media, providing an innovative solution for educators looking to leverage media in 21st century classrooms. John develops professional development and engagement activities for teachers who are integrating PBS LearningMedia into their teaching. Prior to joining PBS, John spent ten years as a community engagement manager and teacher with literacy and arts programs that partnered with schools throughout the Midwest. John’s graduate coursework focused on the design and implementation of blended learning environments and digital curricula for pre-K – 12th grade students. He holds an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.S. from Northwestern University.
Kayla Delzer, our 2016 PBS Lead Digital Innovator, is a well-known local teacher who has garnered national recognition for her innovative work and writing. Her online articles related to flexible classroom design, student centered classrooms, and the use of social media in the classroom have had a significant impact on the changing face of education. Attendees may also be considered for our Master Teacher Award, for recognition of teacher excellence, and partnership opportunities with Prairie Public Education Services. We are please to announce that one of our 2016 Master Teachers chosen from the conference last year, Johanna Ibarra, was also recently selected to be the North Dakota 2017 PBS Digital Innovator!
